Matt 25:12 “But He called back, ‘Believe me, I don’t know you!’

Have I dealt with all the issues in my life?  Am I loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, gentle, good and self-controlled?

The answer is no.  Have I had the opportunity to deal with the issues?  Yes.

Does that make me a ‘foolish virgin?’  Probably.

” The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for their lamps, but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil. When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

“At midnight they were roused by the shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet him!’

“All the bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps. Then the five foolish ones asked the others, ‘Please give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out.’

“But the others replied, ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. Go to a shop and buy some for yourselves.’

10 “But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. 11 Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, ‘Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!’  (Matt 25 NLT)

I need to move forward in faith, if I have real faith I can believe for the things I have not yet seen.  God is the God of the breakthrough.  Suddenly it could happen.

In 2018 I need to be real and genuine.  I need to stand for something, do God’s will, willingly.  And be content in the Lord, walk by faith, focused and passionate to be fruitful for His Kingdom, loving, joyful, peaceful, patient, kind, gentle, good and self-controlled.  I will do what I have to do – it’s God’s will, He is able.  I am a citizen of Heaven and I will live in peace, joy and righteousness.  I will be open, prayerful, surrendered and Jesus will be Lord of my life.  My mind will be renewed by scripture and I will press into God’s presence.  I will embrace life, walk by grace and accept who I am.  I will be prepared to meet Jesus.

I am hopeful for 2018.

How about you?  Be ready!
